Play to the Angel By: Maurine F. Dahlberg
I am only about 100 pages into the book Play to the Angel and so far it has been a really great book! The main character in this novel is Greta. This book takes place around the time when the Nazis are starting to invade Germany. Greta and her mother, Mutti, live in Austria. Greta used to have an older brother named Kurt. He had died due to a disease that he had. Kurt was a musical prodigy, and Mutti used to praise him. He would also give Greta piano lessons in his free time. Greta has a talent with playing the piano but Mutti does not seem to pay attention. Whenever Greta plays the piano at her apartment, Mutti always tells her to stop. Greta wanted to take lessons since her brother had died. Soon Greta starts to take lessons from Herr Hummel. He treats her very well and prepares her for a piano recital in March. Greta is nervous for the recital, and she doesn't believe in herself either. Herr Hummel is a very nice guy who doesn't talk about his past very much. He came to Austria with only a suitcase with him. I am very excited to read the rest of this book to find out more about Herr Hummel's past, and how the recital goes for Greta! Read Play to the Angel to find out what happens too!
It's Kind of a Funny Story, By: Ned Vizzini
I just finished the book, It's Kind of a Funny Story. This book is about a 15-year-old named Craig Giner who suffers from depression. Craig goes to the best school in New York City but he has to work twice as hard to get by because he is not that smart. Craigs depression stops him from eating and he throws his food up after he eats it, and it also stops him from sleeping at night. One night Craig doesnt feel good and he doesn't take his medicine so he decided to try and commit sucide. At the last moment Craig decided to call the sucide hotline and they tell him to go to the closest hospital. Craig learns very important lessons at the hospital and makes new friends that understand what he's going through. I would recomend this book to everyone because it shows the struggle that a lot of people go through with depression. Read this book to find out all the lessons Craig learns at the hospital and if he makes it through his depression!
Alex Rider Eagle Strike By Anthony Horowitz
Alex Rider ,a teenage spy that works for M16, is on vacation in France with his friend Sabina and her family. This is the 4th book in the series of a total of 8. unfortunately i had to skip the 2nd and 3rd books in the series but at least this one doesn't give away any spoilers for the other 2. While on Vacation, Alex sees a familiar face, the Russian assassin Yassen Gregorovich. this man has murdered many many people, one of which includes Alex's uncle Ian Rider. which is how he became involved in M16. Alex is suspicious but decides to just enjoy his vacation. Alex goes to the house where him and his friends family are staying and sees that it has been bombed. Sabina's Father has been severely injured from the blast and is in the hospital. Alex Believes that the person who planted the bomb is Yassen. Alex goes to Yassen's yacht and finds out that he is right. he tries to explain his situation to Sabina but she doesn't believe him and that hes a spy. i only got to about page 90 so i'm interested to see what will happen to Alex and if Sabina is going to ever believe him or not. i'm also wondering how Alex was able to get on to Yassen's yacht, you would think that something like that would be a bit more hidden from the public or guarded Anyways this book has been a pleasure reading so far and i would recommend this book to everyone but especially people who are interested in action and adventure genres.
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
I have been reading the novel Perfect Chemistry. The story is about two very different teenagers, Brittany Ellis and Alejandro or Alex Fuentes. They both attend Fairfield High School in Chicago. Brittany is the popular, perfect, head cheerleader, while Alex is part of a gang called the "Latino Blood." Even though Brittany may seem like the perfect girl on the outside, she is far from perfect on the inside. She struggles at home with her family, she has an autistic sister, and her mom pressures her to do everything right. From getting straight A's, dressing in all designer clothes, and having the most popular boyfriend, her mom sets very high standards. Alex Fuentes has his own struggles as well. His family is very disfunctional. He lives in a very small home, and does not have much.
When school starts up again, Brittany and Alex end up in the same chemistry class. The two ironically get paired up for the first project of the year. Brittany and Alex aren't the most compatible two, and aren't too thrilled about the partner arrangements. When Alex breaks his friends the news that his new chemistry partner is Brittany Ellis, they bet him his motorcycle he wouldn't be able to date her. Alex seals the deal, and challenges his friends. Brittany's boyfriend Collin isn't too happy either. He gets a bit jealous that Brittany is working with gang member Alex Fuentes. As working with Alex progresses, Brittany starts to see the soft and sweet side of this Latino Blood gang member. But is Alex acting this way on purpose, to save his motorcycle? Or does he really have a soft side? The results of Alex and Brittany working together are very surprising. Will they end up together? Find out and read Perfect Chemistry!

She doesn't spend anytime with her parents anymore like she did before because they are to busy with her little brother..............

Flawless By Sara Shepard
I just finished reading Flawless by Sara Shepard. This book has the ability to draw someone in as soon as they read the first sentence. Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, and Hanna Marin all experienced the death of their best friend…their best friend who also became their enemy. Alison DiLaurentis was allegedly murdered by an unknown person who is thought to be harassing the “ex-best friends” signing each message as “–A”. Alison DiLaurentis was hated by many for her nasty and mischievous ways. Spencer, Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Ali kept “the Jenna thing” a secret. It began as a harmless prank but turned into a tragedy.”The Jenna thing” is held against them along with many of their other secrets. Threatening text messages were received saying that everyone will be exposed. As the girls keep gathering these text messages threatening to reveal their secrets, secrets only Ali knew, the girls are sent on leads and get suspicions about everyone. They believe no one can be trusted. The girls are tortured by “-A” everyday along with misfortunes caused by “-A” and other people in their life. The question is, who is linked to “-A”?
