In this book, the author spent no time hesitating and getting into the action. Right off the bat, an assassin named Yassen Gregorovich shows up in Alex's vacation. Yassen is also the man who has tried several times to kill Alex. Alex followed Yassen and heard him say something about the address being confirmed and that it will happen later that night. Alex decided that it wasn't his business and he continued to enjoy his vacation. But, at the end of the chapter, Alex and his friend, Sabina, went back to their vacation home when they saw that it was on fire. Alex had surely thought this was another Yassen attempt to kill him. I think that this first chapter has some foreshadowing. It seems obvious that someone is trying to kill him and it was also obvious that Yassen must have been involved. But, when Alex's killers soon find out that he is not dead, then what will happen? I really enjoyed this first chapter.

Eagle Strike by Anthony Horowitz (Week 1)
I've just started reading Eagle Strike by New York Times best seller, Anthony Horowitz. This is the fourth book in Alex Rider series. First thing I really liked so far(the first chapter, or so) is that it gives you tons of background information. Like I said, this is the fourth book and I read the first 3 several years ago. So I forgot all of the content. In many series, you would have to read the earlier books to understand the later books. But, in this book they give you plenty of background knowledge so you can further understand the book. Another thing that I really like is the voice that the author uses. He uses very precise adjectives that sound just right in their sentences.
