Finally, By: Wendy Mass

I just finished the book Finally. The book is about fitting in and growing up. Rory Swenson has been waiting to turn twelve. When she turns twelve she can get her ears piearced, wear makeup, get a pet, get a cell phone, stay home alone, go to the mall with no parents, babysit, and many more things. Throughout the book Rory has had many things happen to her. Her sixth grade class went on a field trip and she fell in a drain pipe. She wanted to walk into the forest because she thought it looked like a fariy tale and that was when she fell in the drain pipe. A couple days after she turned twelve Rory found a bunny that she really liked and her dad let her get it. The bunny's name is Kyle R. In the middle of the night Rory had a dream that she had an elephant stepping on her chest and when she woke up she couldn't breath. The bunny was on her chest in the same spot that the elephants foot was on. She kept having more bad dreams and she took the bunny back to the store and the clerk said that if you say his name really fast a couple of times it sounds like killer which is what he is. Next, Rory really wanted to get her ears piearced so her mom took her to the mall. Rory got her ears piearced and her ear started to swell up around the earing so she couldn't get it out of her ear. Pus started comming out of her ear and it was so gross she started getting dizzy. It turns out she is allergic to gold. This kept me wondering what else could go wrong for Rory? I recomend this book to young girls because it shows what could happen if you try to grow up when your really young. I rate this book a 6 out of 10.
