Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

I have just started reading this book and I am only on the prologue. This book became a major motion picture in 2011. I haven't seen the movie, but it is a really good book so far.
The book starts of with a narrator, but the narrator isn't revealed yet. Who is the narrator? The narrator and some other people are at a circus watching the performances. At that moment, a guy out of nowhere comes in and tells the narrator that a lot is at stake if he isn't careful. The narrator's name is Jacob.
So far Jacob has interacted with a woman that had no name yet. The woman is referred to as "her" or "she".
He watches her as she grabs a stake and jams it through a man that is yelling at her. In the end of this prologue, it ended up being a whole memory that happened seventy years ago. He has kept this whole murdering a secret for that long. Why would he do that? Will he ever tell anybody the truth or will he live with the secret the rest of his life?
For the small amount of this book I have read, I think this book is really good. I rate this book a 9.5/10 so far.
