Alex Rider:Eagle Strike by Anthony Horowitz

The main character in my book is Alex Rider. Two adjectives that I think describe this character are curious and clever. I think that Alex Rider, an MI6 agent shows the quality of curiosity because when he is on vacation in Spain having a good time, he sees a yacht. There are two options for any person. The typical response would be to just ignore the yacht and enjoy the vacation. The other option is to snoop on the yacht and get into trouble. Can you guess which option Alex Rider went with? Also, when he finds out that the person that owns the yacht is a cold blood killer that killed his uncle and also tried to kill him, he wanted to know more. To this situation, there are two options. One option is to ignore the killer and maybe take the next flight back to England. The second option is to follow the man to see what he's up to. Which is probably not a good idea since that man has tried to kill Alex numerous times before. Alex went with the second one. And it's Alex's choice for each of these questions which tells me that Alex is a curious person. One quote from the book that shows this curiosity is on page 20 it says, " The three men moved away from the boat heading into town. Suddenly Alex was on his feet." This shows that Alex is curious because when Alex see his uncle's killer moving away from his site, he can't stand not to know what he's up to. So he gets up and follows him to town.
I think Alex is clever for many different reasons. For one thing, he is a secret agent and he is trained to be clever. He is alway thinking on his feet and out of the box. One way that I think Alex's cleverness is shown in the book is on page 27, it says," Yassen Gregorovich was here to kill someone. He was sure of that much. The address is confirmed and everything is arranged. But at least Alex hadn't heard his own name mentioned. The target was probably some frenchmen in Saint-Pierre." This shows Alex's cleverness because he had somehow eluded being spotted by Yassen and his men and got to listen to Yassen's conversation. Only someone with courage and wits could pull something like this off.
My prediction on what will happen to Alex throughout the book is that he will grow less and less innocent. Throughout the book he will see more villains and inhuman acts. After all of this builds up, Alex is a teenager who has way too much. Even in the middle of the book, you can feel Alex making transitions from innocent English school boy to professional secret agent who has the license to kill. I think that by the end, Alex will be just as much a killer as Yassen is.
