Week of February 4th-- SETTING

Wow! So many of your posts from last week were awesome; I am so proud of nearly all of you! Let's keep up with this new format. This week, the week of February 4th, let's focus on SETTING.
  • Where, exactly, does your book take place? What's the name of the town, or the world, or country in which the majority of the action takes place?
  • In what time period is your book set? Modern 21st century? The future? The past? If the book tells you a year, make sure you record it.
  • What role does the setting play in the story? This means-- would this book "work" if the time or place were changed? Or does it not really matter when or where the book was set because the characters or the story would still go on exactly the same-- setting isn't very important.
  • If your book is set in many different places (like a house and a football field, or in the woods of Forks and also in Edward's house-- in Twilight) which place do you think is the most important to the novel so far? Explain why.
  • Find a piece of that important setting. Using a quote or two directly from the novel, show us the place and explain why your quote is effective in showing the reader the main setting.
As always-- update us on your characters. AND go back to your last entry.
  • What prediction did you make?
  • Explain if you were correct or not.
