Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Since Bella Swan's first day of moving to Forks, Bella has made several friends. Even when she is with her friends, out of the corner of her eye she is looking for the Cullens. Bella asked some of her friends about them and they all described the Cullens as "different" and "weird." The difference between Bella and her friends is her curiousity to them draws her to them. Where as, Bella's friends stay clear of the Cullens.
After several days of not seeing Edward, Bella begins to come up with scenarios as to what could have happened to him. She convinces herself that he dropped out of school. When she sees him in her English class, Bella becomes nervous and not quite sure what to do. All of a sudden Bella hears Edwards song like voice introduce himself to her. Bella is intrigued by Edward and his persona. She is not about to give up on learning more about the Cullens.
